Effective July 4, 2026. This policy explains what Carvo collects, how rider data is processed, and the controls available to you.
What we collect
Carvo may collect account data (email, Apple sign-in identifiers, display name), subscription status, app settings, saved places, planned routes, ride recordings, riding stats, community route interactions, group ride sessions, and crash or diagnostics information.
Ride recordings can include GPS location, route geometry, timestamps, distance, speed, elevation, lean and motion-derived metrics, weather context, road-awareness events, and photos or camera-related metadata if you choose to connect supported devices.
Group ride features may process invite codes, session membership, display names, and temporary live location updates shared with riders in the same group.
What we don't do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Carvo to show third-party ads. We do not collect data from your microphone, camera, contacts, Health, or precise location unless you grant the relevant iOS permission and use a feature that needs it.
Where data is processed
- On device — Core ride recording, navigation UI, settings, and local ride history are stored or processed on your device first when possible.
- Supabase — Account authentication, ride sync, community routes, radar reports, group ride coordination, and entitlement mirrors.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, StoreKit subscription management, MapKit, WeatherKit, and Apple platform diagnostics where enabled.
- TomTom — Motorcycle routing, traffic, and speed-limit lookups when those features are used.
- LiveKit and voice providers — Group ride voice and premium natural voice features when enabled.
- Google Analytics — Website analytics for getcarvo.app.
How we use data
We use data to provide navigation, route planning, ride recording, ride summaries, subscriptions, account sync, group rides, road-awareness features, customer support, safety features, abuse prevention, and app reliability improvements.
Sharing controls
Your private rides are not public by default. Data is shared with other riders only when you join a group ride, submit a community report, publish or rate a community route, or otherwise choose to share it. Live group ride location is intended to be temporary and limited to the active session.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete rides and app data from within Carvo where the feature is available. You can request account deletion or a copy of your data by contacting us. Backup and log copies may take up to 30 days to expire unless we must retain information longer for security, legal, or billing reasons.
Children
Carvo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If we update this policy materially, we will update this page and revise the date above.
